Lilac is a real beautiful name which is give to these plants and trees by the Greek mythology and Greek people have named it a very great and nice name as the Syringa which is the symbolism of the lilac

Syringa vulgaris (Common Lilac) belongs to the olive family Oleaceae. The Ottomans had it in their gardens and introduced it into European gardens at the end of the sixteenth century. Nowadays lilac is a very common ornamental plant in gardens and parks, because of its attractive, sweet-smelling flowers.

It seems I can never get enough of it! Every year I try to enjoy its perfume and beauty, but those few weeks of lilac blossom are too short.

I also like the cultivars with white blossom. It seems to me that they have a more pleasant fragrance. Maybe it's just an ilusion.
