Ninebarks are the deciduous as they are mostly grown and bloomed in the early days of the summer and also sometimes in springs.  Pacific ninebark is also a summer coast native.

Its latin name is Physocarpus, but it doesn't help me much. I can't say I have seen this shrub before. Do you have pictures of it?
